The shot, beat by beat

The earth zoom out is one unbroken camera move, the kind that used to need a drone, a satellite map and an afternoon in an editor. Here the video model builds the whole journey from your photo, in this order:

  1. A close-up of your face, or both faces, looking up into the lens.
  2. The camera lifts straight up and the street drops away beneath you.
  3. Rooftops shrink into a city grid, then the city meets a coastline.
  4. The camera punches up through the clouds and keeps accelerating.
  5. The whole Earth hangs in black space, and you are somewhere down there.

Everything after your face is generated, so the street and the city are invented by the model rather than pulled from a real map. That keeps the shot smooth and fast, but it also means it will not land on your actual neighborhood or a landmark you choose.

When a zoom out says more than a selfie

  • Moving announcements. “New city, new chapter” lands harder when the camera leaves the ground.
  • Long-distance pairs. Add two photos side by side and pull back until the planet between you fills the frame.
  • The end of a trip. Use it as the last clip of a travel recap, after the beach and before the airport.
  • Perspective posts. Exam results, a big decision, a first day somewhere new: a reminder that it is one small dot on a big planet.
  • Transitions. Cut from the space shot straight into your next scene for a dramatic jump in a longer edit.
  • Birthdays with a twist. One person, one planet, one more trip around the sun: a zoom out makes a year-in-review post feel bigger.

Getting a clean pull-back

The first frame is your face, so that is where photo quality matters most. Use a sharp, front-facing photo in daylight with your whole head in the frame. Hats are fine; sunglasses hide the eyes that the opening shot is built around. For two people, a photo of you together keeps you shoulder to shoulder, while two separate photos are placed side by side.

Want the reverse, a fall from space down to your face? Render the zoom out, then play it backwards in CapCut, the TikTok editor or any phone video app. You get a second version of the same clip without spending more credits.

Length, sound and cost

Generation time varies with the selected settings and provider demand. Check My videos for progress. When the task finishes, download the MP4 within 14 days.

Higher-quality models and longer clips cost more, and the studio shows the exact price before you start. If a render fails for any reason, the credits go straight back to your balance.

Earth zoom out: questions

Can I choose the city or country it zooms out of?

No. The places between your face and outer space are generated fresh for each render, so you cannot pick a location. Every render is a little different, which is part of the fun.

Does it work with two people?

Yes. Use one photo of both of you or two photos side by side. The opening shot shows both faces before the camera lifts off.

Can I make it zoom in from space instead?

Not directly, but reversing the finished clip in any video editor turns the pull-back into a dive from orbit down to your face.

Is there music?

No, effect clips are silent. Add a sound in TikTok, Instagram or YouTube when you post, or make a rap video if you want an original song.

How much does an earth zoom out cost?

A 12-second video uses 5 credits at 480p or 10 at 720p. A 5-second effect uses 3 credits at 480p or 5 at 720p. Other lengths use the displayed per-second rate, rounded up to a whole credit. One-time packs start at $9.99 for 10 credits; larger packs are $99 for 350, $199 for 900 and $499 for 3,000 credits.
